Mayor Hasty has asked me to bring an artisan makerspace to life here in Ottawa, and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Artifactory! This unique space will offer hands-on services and learning programs for artisans, creators, and makers of all kinds.
To get Artifactory off the ground, I’m seeking passionate collaborators and artisans who may want to join as volunteers, instructors, or even potential board members for this new nonprofit venture. Mission
Artifactory Makerspace is a nonprofit community artisans’ hub that fosters creativity, education, and innovation across artistic, scientific, and technical disciplines. We aim to provide inclusive access to high-quality tools, mentorship, and workshops in woodworking, glassworks, digital design, electronics, and 3D printing, enabling makers of all backgrounds to explore and develop their skills. We offer affordable, hands-on learning experiences to bridge skill gaps, support lifelong learning, and promote artistic expression. Collaborating with the Ottawa Center for the Arts, the Makerspace enriches local culture, contributes to regional tourism, and strengthens community ties by showcasing the talents and achievements of local artisans, students, and innovators.

Artifactory Makerspace envisions a vibrant, inclusive community hub where creativity and technology seamlessly converge. We aim to empower individuals of all skill levels by providing access to diverse services, from metal and woodworking to 3D printing and electronics prototyping. We will be Hosting hands-on learning workshops, skill development clinics, and collaborative community events, fostering a culture of innovation and exploration. By integrating with the broader Ottawa Center for the Arts, we aspire to be a catalyst for transforming ideas into reality, offering a dynamic environment where art, design, and technology intersect, inspiring creativity and collaboration across various disciplines.
